My attempt at Clean

I love this Designer Paper from SU. Actually, there is very few of SU Designer paper that I do not LOVE!! I have loads of it and am trying to use some of it up (to make room for more hahaha). Here is a card I made last week using some DP I found in a box in my stamping room. I love the paper piecing technique. I am sure you can tell as I have done a ton of it lately.

I love when others make these clean, simple cards. Mine just looks bland to me. Anyway...this is my attmept at a clean linear type card. Let me know what you think.

I have been working nights again this week so little stamping gets done when that happens!! Hope to get some done Sunday so check back soon!

My Favorite

This card was for a SCS color challenge several weeks ago. The color combo was Black, Kraft, and Soft Skies. I knew this was a great combo but only got around doing this until Saturday.

I always tell my children they are my favorite children in the world. They laugh and tell me they have to be my favorite because they are mine. But I think they like to hear it.

My DS will be 18 years old Friday. I think I will give him this card. It seems it was only yesterday that I was at the hospital delivering him. Where in the world did 18 years go?

He wants to have a birthday party at my mother and dad's house. This thrilled them. I am looking forward to this night. I feel like I have almost made it. He is a fine young man and he is my favorite (and my only) son.

This card was for a challenge on SCS for the 4th of July!! I love how this card turned out! This is one of my new sets from MFT. It's called "Can Ya Dig It?" I could not wait to ink it up!

The paper used is Rusty Pickle I picked up at a Scrapbook convention last year. It works perfectly for the 4th.

My DD spent the 4th of July in Washington D.C. She got to see the fireworks on the mall at D.C. I think that would be great. I hope she had a great time!! My DS had to work on the 4th and was plenty mad about it!! He fell asleep on the couch at home before 9pm. His girlfriend came over and spent some time with him. That put him in a little better mood. We cooked out but it was really hot here!! Hope your weekend was wonderful!

I bought a bunch of Bellas last week and have been inking them up on a regular basis!! I also went to Hobby Lobby Thursday and saw this precious"It's a Girl thing" stamp. I thought it really fit in well with my new Bellas. I had a bunch of fun at Hobby Lobby and bought this new Cuddlebug folder also!! They should pay my gas as much money as I spent. hahaha
I really was eyeing the Cricut Expression but just cannot let myself spend that kind of money right now!! I have a son about to go to college in August. I know that will not be cheap!! and having a 16 year old daughter is expensive anyway you look at it. I guess I am just glad the HL is 100 miles away!!

I few weeks ago there was a sketch challenge on SCS that I loved. This is my rendition of it. I love these bees. I got this great Euphoria paper from Basic Grey from my Secret Sister over at SCS. I have about 10 cards I photoed today. I hate to add them all at the same time. I am working a bunch next week so I need to do them today.
I have been doing a bunch of stamping the last week and have some new Rubbah coming from SU next week! I bought several of the preview and hostess stamps. Why are new stamps better than the older ones??
I hope my Secret Sister sees what I did with my Wonderful paper!!

Frank Lloyd Wright

Yesterday on SCS the inspiration was several Frank Lloyd Wright windows. They were beautiful and very inspirational. I made this card to submit. I used the All about You stamp set from SU. I also used Embossing powder on the U.

I have been working alot of nights which gives me extra time to stamp when I am off work. I have done about 15 cards in the last three days. I have had so much fun just stamping away. I hope to upload several in the next few days so be sure and check back soon.....

I think this is one of the prettiest card I have ever made. I did not get may comments on SCS. I live for those comments. I did this card for Beate's challenge this weekend. I bought this BasicGrey paper a while back. I love it and have been waiting to use it---hoarding perhaps?? Anyway, I knew Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip would be perfect with it. The stamps are form Fresh Cuts (Stampin' Up) Please leave a comment. Does it need something different? I took another picture than the one on SCS to better highlight it. Like I said, I love it. I plan to use it soon to thank someone who has really helped me the last year!

Knot for you

A good friend of mine's daughter is getting married soon. She had a bridal shower today. I made this card to go with the gift I sent. Once again, I used Wild Wasabi. The end is near for my favorite color!
I used Fresh Cuts and SU Dp. I also used some SU punches. Yesterday's challenge on SCS was to use only knots as embellishments...so you see my one knot. I wanted to add some brads but held back.
I put a note inside the card: I hope all your "for better or worse" moments are far better than worse. Cheesy huh!! Let me know what you think and check out Harry below. DO you see any cat hair on this card??

Stamper Helper

I have a cat named Harry. My son named him, I think it may have been after his favorite book. Can you guess what that may be?? Anyway, Harry is a people lover. Anywhere I am, Harry will soon follow. Today is my play day and I decided to spend all day in the stamping room. Harry had been asleep on my bed all morning. But as soon as he realized where I was, he came snooping. I got up to answer the phone and when I came back, this is where I found him. Maybe he wants to stamp, too. He looks sleepy. I had to get a picture of this. I am kinda afraid to go back in my stamping room.....I am sure I will find him asleep right on top of my cards. Well so much for finishing the challenges today...HAHAHA. He is very lovable and this is why I may have cat hair on my cards.

Also new stamps from Stampin' Up!! I love the baby wipe technique and this stamp set just seemed to fit it well. I used Wild Wasabi ( my favorite color), So Saffron, and Brilliant Blue. I also just got some of the Double Stitched ribbon( Guess which color??). I love ths way the flowers turned out with the Baby Wipe. My wipes were a little on the dry side so the colors are not quite as vibrant as usual. I think I kinda like the muted tones.

I am expecting more stamps int he next few days from Flourishes and Hanna Stamps. Why are the new stamps are the most fun to use?? Let me know what you think?

More new toys

I got some new punches in the mail last week. I think I have been on a buying binge (but it is so much fun!!). I also used the prisma colors on this card but went back and used a Stampin' Up marker also. I got this set from Stampin' Up last week. I used Yoyo Yellow--I haven't used any Bold Brights in forever!!--- and Brilliant Blue. I made this card with no special intention for its use. I just was needing to use my new punches....let me know what you think!!

New Stamps!!

I got several new toys & stamps the last two weeks. First I finally broke down and got some prisma pencils and Gamsol, I got these new stamps from Our Daily Bread. I made this card with the colors and Gamsol but can tell I need some practice with the gamsol!! I used up some Hodgepodge Hardware and great ribbon found. I used Ruby Red, So Saffron, and Chocolate Chip paper. I love getting to play with new toys!

Sympathy card

My husband and I grew up in very small towns about five miles apart. We did not know each other, but have many mutual friends. One of these friend had a daughter die last week as a result of cancer. I made this sympathy card to send to her.
We have kept up with this family via Caring Bridge and have been praying for them all along. The lives this young lady touched is remarkable as well as her faith in God. Please lift up this family in your prayers today.

Laney's Birthday

My daughter recently turned 16. I made this card for her birthday. It is a Tri-fold card from Beate's tutorial on Splitcoast stampers. The inside card has her birthday gift on it---a gift certificate to spend some money (her favorite past-time).
My camera has not been working so I have not been able to post for a long time. The I had graduation, school parties for the class I teach, and last, but not least, my son graduated from high school. A few very busy weeks at my house!
Hope you like the birthday card, she sure did. Or maybe it was the gift certificate letting her shop!

Today on SCS is the

Featured Stamper challenge. It is by far my favorite. I love to meet and learn about new stampers. SCS is so huge now it is easy to miss some great cards. I get a little overwhelmed with the volume of great things on there. Anyway, today was Kim Muhl's day to be the featured stamper. I case's one of her cards. I really like the way this turned out.

I am addicted to Wild Wasabi. I know I am going to be in BAD shape come July. I have made very few cards the last week without WW. I will put it up and somehow I look up and it is back on my stamping table. Any suggestions?

Crazy about SU Designer Paper

I found this Designer paper when I was cleaning up in my stamping room. I LOVE it. So far I have made four cards, a prayer journal and a scrapbook page with it. Here are two of the cards I have made. I loved Beate's gatefold card From Wednesday...so I used it again for a wedding shower card. Also, one of my best friend's daughter was accepted into nursing school so I made her a little care basket and this card. All the images are Stampin' Up. I have made my watermark but have not figured out to get the card to the program to put it all together.

A girl I work with had a baby boy about 4 weeks ago. I plan to make her a blueberry cream cheese pound cake. Someone made on for me when I had my son about 18 years ago. It was so good. I could eat it with one hand(good for holding babies), I could eat in the middle of the night while nursing, I could eat it for breakfast (no cooking) & I could snack on it during the day. I try to send it to anyone that has recently had a baby. I made this card after seeing the tutorial on Splitcoast. Beate does such a great job. I love this "All in the Family" from Stampin' Up. Isn't that the cutest baby? If you are interested in the recipe for the pound cake let me know. And what do you think of my card?

This is my sweet Happy about a year ago. She was on the outside porch resting. I am sure she had been chasing squirrels or birds or something. She was very territorial. I miss her so much. I am beginning to stop expecting her to run out when I come home. She was the BEST! I am in the process of making a small scrapbook about our 4 (3 cats and Happy) animals. Happy was put to sleep about 6 weeks ago. She has kidney failure. I guess I had forgotten how much you can grieve for a dog.

We called her by many nicknames. My favorite was NOAA weather dog. She would let us know if it thundered in a five county area. When it rained and thundered the other night, I thought of how upset she would have been. She was terrified of thunder.

We also called her "chicken". She was a big dog but afraid of her own shadow. I often teased her that the dog kingdom wanted their title back, and she would have to be changed to the chicken kingdom. She was such a baby. She was almost twelve years old and served us well. We miss her!

This is a layout I saw and liked. I did not realize how hard it would be to line up all those squares. I did pretty good vertically but messed up horizontally. I hope no one will notice when this page is in my scrapbook!
I always say I have been married 22 years just not to the same man. I was married the first time for ten years to my children's father. This marriage is starting on year 13! These pictures are from my second wedding. My daughter was my flower girl. We had a very small wedding. My daughter and I went to the beauty shop and had our hair done prior to the wedding. She wore flowers in her hair. She was three years old. The picture on the top is of us kissing after the ceremony. One of my friends took the pictures. We had only 8 guests at the wedding. It was on Good Friday and it was snowing (in April) We do not often get snow in April in Mississippi. Hope you like the layout.

Wish Shoe Well (All images Stampin'Up)

I have always had a great love for shoes! I think my teenage daughter has inherited it. She loves shoes and I indulge her because I understand the affliction or addiction (whichever it is). She is short(about 5'2") and loves high heels. The higher the better is her motto! I wish we wore the same size but my foot is bigger. The only thing is I would never be able to find my shoes again. Just like I can never find my blow dryer. I am also glad we wear different color makeup. One of my friends bought a tackle box with a lock to keep her makeup in because her teenage daughter would steal it all the time. I have not had to go to those lengths. Ant the blow dryer....I finally just gave up and bought cheaper one. She doesn't like it so I am safe.

Hope you like this card. I love the shoes and the sentiment. I have been a "Taken with Teal" fan for a long time and doesn't it look great with the Purely Pomegranate?

Halloween 15 years ago

I found these great pictures form my daughter's first Halloween. She will be 16 years old next week. I used Stampin' Up paper and stamps to do this card. The photo makes the page look cut off on the side. It is not. The Happy Halloween is form another sheet of paper. I cut it out and turned it sideways for this layout.
About four months after this picture was made, my son fell against the hearth in this picture. He had to have about five stitches right above his eyebrow. It was so scary and I am a nurse. It is just different when it is your child's blood!! It still makes me quiver just remembering it. Hope you like the layout.

I made this card almost a year ago but could not decide a sentiment to use on it. A girl I work with is having a bridal shower this weekend so I pulled this out of my stack and added the best wishes. I have about six wedding gifts to buy this month. I also have two baby gifts to buy. I love to buy gifts for people. I really try to put a lot of thought into the gifts. I love cookbooks and catch myself trying to give everyone a cookbook. The daughter of a friend of mine is getting married in two weeks. I am going to get her a crock pot and a crock pot cookbook. I think every young couple needs that especially when they both are working. Hope you like my card.

This is a thank you for me to use and not my son. I think this set is one of my all time favorites. I have used it so much. Here I used the Purely Pomegranate and Wild Wasabi. I have bought ink refills for both of these colors. I love them. I think this combo is great.
A friend of mine has a small guest house beside her house. We spent three days stamping and scrapbooking. It was great. She owns a florist and stays busy especially around the holidays. I had a break from school. We ate and ate and stamped and scrapbooked all day and into the night.
I hope we can do it again soon. I know she will be ready for a break after Mother's Day. She does a beautiful job on her scrapbooks. Sh always inspires me. Hope you enjoy this card

Here is another card I made for my son to write thank you notes.

After I had been married about 2 years, I was cleaning out the guest room and found about 20 thank you notes I had written and never mailed. That was the WORST feeling. I called everyone of the people and still mailed the cards. They say it is never too late to send a thank you but I think two years is pushing it!

My son has done pretty good so far in keeping up with the notes(especially after I threatened to take his phone and truck away!). I just hope I can stay up making cards for him to use. I need so more ideas for masculine thank you notes, Any suggestions?? Hope you enjoy the card.

On A Cruise

About ten years ago, my mom took me, my daughter, my sister and my neice on a cruise. We had so much fun. I took about 200 pictures and am still trying to get all of them in my scrapbook.
I made this card with only one picture (I usually want to add 3 or 4). I used the sailboat from Laney's outfit to decorate the page. I think this paper is Stampin' Up from a kit I bought long ago. I thought it looked like waves.
Again, we had the best time on the cruise except for me trying to stay up every night to eat the midnight buffet. I NEVER made it. I could not stay up that late. Everyone else in the family went but me. I was in our room asleep. How sad is that. I sure did get a good night's sleep every night on the cruise!

My sweet son(see below) asked me to make him some thank you notes. He needed some for graduation gifts. Well---yeah I would make him some. This is one example if the cards I made. I was so pleased he asked me to do this. Years ago he told my mother that he didn't like the fact that I let his sister stamp with me and not him. Who knew a thirteen year old boy would have any desire to stamp? I have always let my daughter stamp and scrapbook with me. I am sure he would deny any of this now (at 17 years old). Here is my son on his way to the "Cotton Ball". He got a new suitfrom his dad. I think he looks so handsome. His girlfriend was a "Cotton Maid". This is all a big deal down here in the Mississippi Delta. I could not be prouder. He is graduating this year and going to school about 90 mile away. I will surely miss him.

I was looking over my past cards before I posted because I did not want a repeat. I have my sweet kitty on my map. We found her in the yard dead three weeks ago. I also had to put my dog to sleep four weeks ago. I am still in mourning. March was a bad month at the Bond home.

Finally, I have returned! I am through with school. And as soon as I find the cable for my camera I will post!! I did make some cards over spring break. My son is a senior in high school and he asked me to make him some thank you notes to send for his graduation gifts! Boy, was I ever happy to do that. I hope to start posting some cares tomorrow. Boo Boo Booglie Eyes

This is a card I made for Beate's weekly challenge. The witch is suppose to be a circle but she would not stay in the circle punch without her broom. SO I did the spider in a circle but he just was not as cute as she is for this card. I used SU designer paper form last year. I love these colors!! I have used this paper a lot. I have ordered the new Halloween paper but have not opened it yet.

I was going to make this a baby card but my daughter informed me this was not baby colors!! I used my new cuddlebug(!!!) on the black background under the "Happy Boo to You" Does it show up? And I am trying to stop hoarding brads so I used 9(!!) A first for me. Let me know what you think.

VACATION

EIGHT Challenges!!

Splitcoast is celebrating their wonderful Fan Club. I have been a member for three years! I believe in supporting SCS! It is such a wonderful resource!

The are having a wonderful "Dare To Get Dirty " Weekend. Yesterday there were eight(8!!) challenges on the site. Well, never let it be said I backed down from a challenge. This card is for the paper piecing challenge. I have never tried this technique but always wanted to, so this was the push I needed. Of course, I used Pick A Petal--I seem to use that set all the time. I love the purple and gold!! What do you think?

Gift for a "Cruiser"

I made this tin for a friend going on a cruise. I put some band aids, Tylenol, Advil, Rolaids, and Dramamine in the tin for her to take on her trip. I hope she never has to open this but can just admire it in her suitcase. I used the red sticky tape to secure the DP and ribbon around the top. I also had a thin strip of DP left and tied it along with the ribbons on the handle.

I do not really know why I added the BonJour stamp. I guess I thought of Bon Voyage. But I do hope all her days on the cruise are good days!!

Unconventional Male Card

This card was for a challenge for an unconventional male card. We were to use no blue, green, cars, horses, etc.... I need to give a graduation gift to a friend of my son's. I love the sentiment from Happy Harmony. I think it fits a young man on his way to college. I also love the Fleur-Di-Li. He is going to Mississippi State and their colors or Maroon and White so I used those to make this card. I like it for a graduation card-I hope this young man reaches all of his dreams!

Why A BABY Card??

This is for a challenge on Splitcoast this week. I do not know why I decided to do a Baby card. I am Definnnitly NOT having a baby! I just love this designer paper from SU. The pink and brown is my favorite color combo.

I would not recommend this for a baby announcement, it took about 30 minutes to make! But as I do not need baby announcements it was just a fun card to make for a fun challenge. What do you think?

I have one of the best moms and today is her Birthday! I made this card for a challenge but decided to send it to my mom. She is an avid gardener so I think "All things grow with love" really fits for her.

She is very involved with a prison ministry called "Kairos". To read more about this visit their website listed below. She spends a great deal of time and effort with this ministry. I think the prisoners that she is involved with are very blessed. Did I mention my mom is turning 81 today? She is the BEST!!

Pink Olive's and Alexa's Stamp Set

Yesterday's color challenge on Splitcoast was to use Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, and Regal Rose. I had received this wonderful new stamp set from Missy B Designs. It is honor of Lauren Meader's daughter Alexa. Please read about Alexa on Lauren's blog. You can see the site on my blog roll. The story is so inspiring. All the proceeds from the sale of this stamp set goes to Pediatric Cancer Research. Can you imagine a more worthy cause?

After reading Alexa's story I visited Missy B. Designs ( www.missybdesigns.com) and bought not only this set but a precious Thanksgiving set also. I LOVE my new scallop punches!! I feel sure I will be using them a lot!

My daughter is going to use this card to write a thank you note to my sister-in-law for having her to spend the night and taking her shopping (Her favorite thing to do!)

Working the Night Shift....

Another challenge I worked on this weekend. I am on the night shift this week and that severely limits my stamping but.....someone has to pay for the stamps!!!

This challenge was to use a favorite layout and make another card with different theme. I used this same layout for my chicken card(You can see in "Older Posts"). I used a fall theme and more sedate. I hope you like!

I got some new scalloped punches today so I will HAVE to stamp and use them tonight. I hope to upload them tonight. I do like to stamps at night after everyone has gone to bed. My sleep is already so messed up! Only I have to limit eyelets at night(No Hammering!) hahaha!!

Beate's Challenge

I love a challenge! I think it helps me by not looking at a blank card. I have a plan when I sit down. I got these great bees yesterday. They are from Stampendous, I ordered them along with some other great stuff from Eclectic Paperie @ eclecticpaperie.com. I wanted to use my new SU paper and colors. This is Wasabi Green and Purely Pomegranate. Aren't they GREAT!!! The bottom of the card is a SU wheel: Basics Outline. I also used my new Fire brads from SU. I computer generated the sentiment with SU fonts and pop dotted them up there! Let me know what you think!

Monochromatic Challenge

SCS has a challenge today for a monochromatic card and NO embellishments. I LOVE Tepting Turquoise as you can tell in my blog. So there was no doubt what I would use. I have always loved Sage Advice. I also had to use my new corner punch!!

Give Thanks

I used my scanner again. I do not think it showcases the card as well, but it is so much easier for me. I got a package from Stampin' Up today. I had to play tonight! I love pumpkins. I love everything about pumpkins. Especially that they signify cooler weather.. Summer in Mississippi is no picnic. That is one nice thing about working in a hospital, It is always cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

I used my scanner for this card. I got some new playthings today. I used my Blue Bayou card stock and ink. WEE! I love it. I think this sketch is one of the best ever. I am sure I will use it again. There are some great cards at SCS for this challenge. I used this stamp set and have no idea what the name of it is. I have had it forever. It stays in a ziplock bag because I do not even have a box for them. I love the one that says: "Thanks..I needed that" I used the wheel rough texture to add a little interest. I got my new ticket punch today and used it on every piece of cardstock on this card. Don't you think these colors are great together? All Images are Stampin' Up.

Tent Topper

I was surfign and found a great Blog. It is Distinctive Touches. Colleen Schaan is the owner. She has some cool challenges on the site. I decided to try this one called Tent Topper. I know it looks a lot like the CASE id did on MotherMark--used the same DP and colors. I am in love with this color pallette. This is also the first time I have ever stamped on Twill. This week on Splitcoast technique challenge was The Tapestry of Life. I have been playing with this in my off time for about three days. ot sure if I really like this but I have been wanting to use this ribbon. This card gave me a chance. I used the Mixed Bouquet. It is also one of my favorite sets. Do I say that about every set? Please let me know what you think. I am just not sure I like this. I do love the colors as I am a Bold Bright girl!! Splitcoast challenges me Again!!

Tuesday's color challenge was for the Bold Bright colors: Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise and Green Galore. I had been letting the colors roll around in my head all week. I finally sat down and created a card for the challenge.

Alexa' Story

I was surfing through some blogs trying to get some great ideas to make my blog special. Through several GREAT blogs I was led to a wonderful Blog: "The beauty within: My Time, My Creations, My Stampendence". I fell in love with the work Lauren did. At the top is a banner for "Alexa's story" I knew when I saw this it was going to be significant, a premonition of sorts. Well sure enough, I read the story of this wonderful little girl's life. I had a bad experience at work today and needed some rubber therapy. I love this paper and bought up several packs of it before the retirement. I also bought a new punch at Michael's yesterday. I could not wait to use it. I love Marvy"s new Giga and Mega punches. I bought two. One is square and one is round. I used the new round one here. What do you think?

Once again Splitcoast challenged me. I did not think I would like this card challenge but once I got started I loved it. I got this new "old" stamp set this week and wanted to try it out. Lovely as a Tree" is the stamp set used along with Canvas, and So Very for the "loved" stamp. This is for my husband. He has had a bad week, and I want him to remember he is loved no matter what!!I also am trying to use my accessories more freely. I love the way this one turned out. I hope you like it, too

Brunch Invitation

My nephew married last year. My family had a brunch the day after the engagement party. I made the invitations or I should say me and my sweet friends that helped me made the invitations! My sister loved the invitations. Shw was the one I wanted to impress so it all worked out well. I also stamped the wine glass on the envelope and colored the wine with a real red marker. I printed the details on the vellum and overlayed it on white.

I made this card for a RAK. It looks pretty in person but my new camera shows every detail TOO well. The white gel pen looks awful on this picture but is pretty in person. I hate to fuss about the camera doing too good of a job, haha

I think the card turned out great. I love the John Lennon saying. The person I made this for is a Beatle fan so I think she will like it, too

I love this set, it is one of all my all time favorites (I have many that are all time favorites!). This is a layout I found on SCS. I love to try different folds. I also like to leave room on cards for just my name. I have some friends going through some bad times and don't really know what to say so I thought this would be perfect! I can just sign my name and they will know I am thinking about them.

Once again SCS inspired a card. Today was a featured stamper and once again, we had some GREAT cards to work with. I loved all the cards but decided to try my hand at this one. Ihad fun making this card and see several flaws that need to be corrected but overall I am happy with it. Happy enough not to tear it apart and go again--LOL.

I had several negative events happen yesterday and stamping was so therapuetic! Don't you just love to get away in your own little world and stamp!! I have had so many nice people help with my blog. I think stampers afe just really nice people! Have a great Sunday and thanks for visiting.

I was so inspired by Markiesmom (Feature Stamper this week) This is my CASE. I always hoard my embellishments after I buy them. So for me to use 5 brads, ribbon, and hodgepodge hardware is really s step. Once I even bought two orders of the same ribbon hoping maybe that would break me from my hoarding habit. So hopefully you will see more accesories on my next cards!

I am making a collection of cards to give to my sister (Don't look, Gay)/ I love using the designer papers when making a card. I also embossed the French Flair but I could not really tell it on the scan or the card itself. I am trying to use up my organdy ribbon. I think this card turned out pretty and reverent. Well, I have started a Blog! It was a little too easy.
I have spent the Holiday stamping, staring at SCS, and planning my next order from the new catalog. Where am I gonna get the money--or better yet, explain to my husband why there are several big bank drafts to SU? I cannot wait to order my new stuff
I placed a huge order June 30th to get several things before they retired and at the old prices. That order will be here Tuesday and now I am ready to order NEW stuff!!
